Bathing the Shiva linga with sacred offerings
Rudrabhishek is among the most powerful Shiva rites — the abhishek (ritual bathing) of the linga while the Rudram, a hymn from the Yajurveda, is recited. Devotees offer it to remove obstacles and for health, peace and the fulfilment of a sankalp (vow). In Kashi, the city of Shiva himself, it is held to be especially potent.
Most Kashi temples and many Pandit Ji perform Rudrabhishek on request. Agree the dakshina (offering) and what is included beforehand; indicative fair-price bands are shown on the pooja pages.
Explained for understanding and respect — practices vary by tradition, family and Pandit Ji.
